Personal Mission Statement

My lifelong passion for clothes, shopping and men’s fashion started when I was young surrounded by a family of smart dressers who took time to look their best all the time. Two years ago I started taking style and fashion more seriously with the development of my own personal style Instagram account @silverandsuave. After spending 35+ years in leadership roles in both the non-profit and for profit industries I have decided to take my work experiences, passion for fashion and a strong desire to provide excellent service to start my own image consulting business.

I had been thinking about being an image consultant for a few years. Within the last year I was taking it more seriously. Not exactly knowing where to begin I started to browse the Internet for guidance as how best to get started. No surprise I found dozens of different agencies offering certifications in the fashion industry. Some from local colleges, universities and online courses. The COVID-19 situation made the online course the obvious better choice. With my search narrowed down to online course I conducted a 'deeper dive'. I was doing my best to avoid the hour stories associated with online courses such as technical issues, no support, poor content, etc. The Fashion Stylist Institute (FSI) clearly outlined the curriculum on the web page, which was very helpful to view the course content. The price was also noted as great value. I also conducted the usual thorough investigation by reading reviews, FSI history and researching the founder Gillian Armour. All reviews were positive and Gillian's reputation stellar. I registered for the Male Image Consultant Certification course. Registration was easy. Access to starting the course was immediate. The course itself is available 365/24/7, which very important when you are still working on other projects or a full time job. Once starting the course I was concerned about technical issues as I am not very tech savvy. Would I get support right away? There was never a technical issue and support with other questions I had was responded to right away. There was no delay. I received positive and candid comments regarding my submitted work immediately. Venturing into a new profession can be daunting at the best of times, but with the support from the FSI team it was very easy to put my best foot forward. I would highly recommend this course and other courses offered by FSI for anyone considering a profession in the fashion industry. I have no doubt that my personal, positive experience with the male image consultant course is the same with all courses offered by FSI.
